I know that is a very loaded question, but I think I can accurately say that this Summer has the potential to be the best summer in the history of, well, my life.
There are many contributing factors that are swaying me to answering yes to this question. They include, but aren’t limited to following events that are scheduled to occur this summer:
Saturday, May 18 and Sunday, May 19 – Burlington, Vermont
This trip includes a two-day excursion to the beautiful countryside of Vermont to do some training for the Tough Mudder, mentioned in the next event and a visit to two of my favorite people in the world, my little cousins Emily and Molly.
Friday, May 24 through Monday, May 27 – Acadia National Park
With my work schedule and working multiple jobs, I don’t get a lot of chances to take vacations or celebrate many Holiday weekends. But I am treating myself to a trip to Acadia and going to be hanging out with 30+ people, camping, hiking, boating, etc. This weekend will be one of the ages, most definitely.
Saturday, June 1 – Tough Mudder at Gunstock Mountain Resort
This is a biggie. I competed in a pair of adventure races last year, one Warrior Dash at Gunstock at the end of the summer and then a Spartan Race inside Fenway Park in November. I enjoyed it so much, that I decided to kick it up a notch and join a Tough Mudder Team “Your Mudder” that will be competing at the extremely challenging adventure race at Gunstock Mountain Resort. I can’t wait for this. I know it’s going to be hard, but all the hard work is sure to be rewarding.
Wednesday, June 5 – Boston Red Sox vs. Texas Rangers at Fenway Park
I am a huge Sox Fan, as many of you know and this will be my first game at the park this season. Last year I wasn’t able to attend a game until September when the season was pretty much over. But this year I will be able to take a nice drive to Boston and catch the Red Sox take on the Texas Rangers on beautiful summer night.
Saturday, June 8 – The Avett Brothers – Meadowbrook
When I was in high school, I worked at Meadowbrook and parked cars. After moving back to New Hampshire, I spent the last three summers parking cars at Meadowbrook. But this year I decided not to go back. I purchased a pair of tickets to this epic display of The Avett Brothers back during the winter sometime and managed to get pit tickets. I can’t wait for this concert. I saw them two years ago, and they were one of the most energetic bands I have ever seen live, and I have been to a lot of concerts in my 32 years on this planet.
Friday, June 14 through Sunday, June 16 – Family Reunion in West Virginia
I get to see some family members that I haven’t seen in a very long time. This should be a great trip.
Monday, June 17 through Friday, June 21 – Spending time with the ‘Rents and my beloved Sister
Scattered together with a couple of work days, I will be spending time with my beloved parents and my sister Kelsie.
Saturday, June 22 – Brad and Andrea’s Wedding
The wedding of my cousin Brad and his bride-to-be that will take place only yards away from my residence. I will be surrounded by my parents, my sister and friends and family, as they will be renting the nearby cabins.
Monday, July 8 – Weezer at Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom
So glad I found out about this show before it sold out. Blows my mind that a band of this caliber is playing one of my favorite venues on the East Coast!
Sunday, July 21 – Boston Red Sox vs. New York Yankees
Enough said here. A Sunday night ESPN game against the hated Yankees in the bleachers. Does it get any better than that?
